In 1978, a group of six accountants and auditors, mostly from Revenue Canada, conceived the idea of forming an organization of Filipino accountants in Toronto. Today, after 30 years, the Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants is a 550-member strong group of Filipino Accountants! On March 14, 2009, members who recently joined AFCA will be formally introduced and inducted. As well, members of AFCA Board who assumed new roles and responsibilities for 2009 will be sworn into office.

For 2008 and 2009, the current AFCA Executive Board developed a strategic plan based on four cross cutting themes – (1) professional development, (2) well being of members, (3) community participation and (4) organizational effectiveness. Status update on these themes will be highlighted during the night!
