Scholarship Committee

The AFCA Scholarships are presently funded through the various AFCA fundraising efforts. For the long term, AFCA will create the AFCA Scholarship Foundation to establish a self-sustaining fund so AFCA can offer more scholarship assistance to deserving Filipino Canadian accounting students. According to Bobby dela Cruz, Chair of the AFCA Scholarship Committee and past president of AFCA and NCPACA, Canadian scholarship applicants will also be able to compete, beginning in 2005, for the annual scholarship grants given by the National Council of Philippine American Canadian Accountants (NCPACA) who are giving three scholarships of US$5,000, US$2,500 and US$1,500.

The Scholarship Committee also plan to offer scholarships funded by private corporations and individuals, and act as conduit and information source for financial assistance provided by colleges, universities and other funding institutions. The other members of the AFCA Scholarship Committee are Bing Paduada, Resty del Rosario, Winston Lim and Mitchell Arrojado.
